The course will provide participants with exposure to all major movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy topics through video presentations, didactic lectures, and case discussions with faculty specializing in the diagnosis, care and management of these disorders in adults. New diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for movement disorders including surgical interventions, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy will also be discussed. Some lectures will be provided in interactive format. Participants will be well equipped to institute these new strategies in their own practices.

At the conclusion of the course, participants should be able to:
Choose the most appropriate therapy for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and related parkinsonian disorders
Recognize genetic forms of Parkinson’s disease and related parkinsonian conditions
Understand the importance of non-motor features in Parkinson’s disease and choose the optimal therapies for these frequently disabling symptoms
Recognize common genetic forms of dystonia and choose the correct diagnostic tests and treatments
Appropriately diagnose Huntington’s disease and other types of choreas, and choose the optimal therapeutic modalities for these conditions
Evaluate patients with drug-induced, toxic and iatrogenic movement disorders
Recognize different types of myoclonus and consider the optimal therapy
Understand the indications and limitations of new therapies for multiple sclerosis
Evaluate the patients with different clinical presentations of multiple sclerosis and be familiar with differential diagnosis including Lyme’s disease
Understand and discuss current MR criteria in diagnosing and differentiating MS, the role of MR in the follow-up of MS and the value of advanced MR techniques in MS
Choose the optimal therapy for seizure disorders and be familiar with indications and limitations of new antiepileptic medications recently introduced to the market
Be familiar with differential diagnosis of epileptic versus non-epileptic events
Understand the risk factors for sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients
Neurologists involved in the treatment of Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy are more than welcome to join us in Lublin.
