Jakub Kuszlik, born 1996, is a graduate of Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń’s piano class at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz and an award-winning pianist. His most successful piano competition results include: the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (4th prize ex aequo, the Polish Radio Prize for the best performance of Chopin’s mazurkas), the 10th International Ignacy Jan Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2016; 2nd prize), the Beethoven Competition in Bonn in 2017 (semi-finalist), the National Piano Competition in Konin (3rd place, 2010), the International Piano Competition in Zgorzelec (2nd place, 2011), H. Czerny-Stefańska Piano Tournament in Żagań (1st place, 2012), the International Piano Competition EPTA in Kraków (2nd place, 2012) and the International M. Moszkowski Competition in Kielce (1st place, 2013), the 10th competition in the memory of Artur Rubinstein in Bydgoszcz (2014; 2nd prize), the 13th Ludwik Stefański and Halina Czerny-Stefańska Competition in Płock in 2014 (the Grand Prix and 1st prize), the 49th Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk in 2015 (IPiUM “SILESIA” Young Stage Award), the Hilton Head International Piano Competition in New York in 2019 (the 2nd prize), and the 2019 Top of the World International Piano Competition in Tromso, Norway (3rd prize).

He holds the artistic scholarships of the Czarnecki Foundation and the Mayor of Bydgoszcz. He has performed in the USA, Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Greece, Norway, and Iceland.
