Dear Colleagues,

We are inevitably approaching the end of another calendar year. Another 12 months of a very difficult geopolitical situation in the world and an economic crisis in the post-pandemic world are passing. Undoubtedly, this situation also affects the scientific activities of institutions such as “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”. Nevertheless, we are trying to maintain the same level and cooperate with our authors as before. And that is why we are once again sharing with you another very interesting issue of our quarterly.

The new issue, although slightly smaller than usual, is extremely rich in meta-analyses, which we constantly encourage you to submit. They are very difficult to prepare, but they are also scientifically very reliable publications on which EBM is based. This time, as many as 7 such articles touch on various topics from broadly understood surgery and its borderline, because we treat this type of publication so broadly. Two of them concern the very important issue of the perioperative ERAS program in gastric and colorectal surgery. The remaining manuscripts also analyze very important issues in the everyday practice of minimally invasive surgery. I encourage you to read all of them.

And for the upcoming Christmas season and the end of the year, I wish everyone peace and rest from everyday hard work, and good times with family and friends. Let this be a period of reflection and preparation for many new inspirations in the upcoming 2024, which will hopefully be better than 2023! See you at the meetings and conferences taking place in 2024.

See you also in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”….

Kind regards

Prof. Jacek Szeliga
