Presenting the new issue of “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”, I am particularly excited, because it is proof of the multi-format specialist journal dedicated to surgeons of various specialties.
Its particularly valuable content is the guidelines for the use of laparoscopic techniques in acute surgical cases and in the emergency room, developed over many months by the most experienced specialists of the Association of Polish Surgeons. This is a much-needed document, especially in difficult times for doctors, providing scientific and legal support for their activity in the most demanding cases. It contains absolutely complete recommendations, and due to their length it is divided into 2 parts. The next one will be published in issue 3/2023.
In the current issue you will also find, as usual, a set of extremely interesting articles, including, as part of our permanent section, 4 meta-analyses and reviews covering the broad spectrum of current problems of minimally invasive surgery.
An exceptionally large group consists of publications in the field of pediatric surgery. We are extremely pleased that we are also noticed outside the community of general surgeons.
We cordially invite you to publish your next works and scientific observations. Remember that we attach great importance to the correctness of the format of the submitted articles. Their high level undoubtedly has an impact on our ever-higher indexing, the next increase of which is expected to occur already in June.
And on the occasion of the upcoming summer time, I wish you great weather and long relaxation during your vacations after another year of hard work in the operating room.
With kindest regards
Prof. Jacek Szeliga
