Dear Colleagues,
We are approaching the end of the year. The time of reflection and summaries is therefore coming. This year was exceptionally good for us. Many doctors from abroad joined the group of “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” readers by submitting a record number of new manuscripts. Not all of them could be accepted for publi- cation. Having obtained the IF at the level of 0.8, we must take care to ensure the highest value of articles presented in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”. On the other hand, we have helped many authors to improve their papers, many of which were directed to other journals. It is all because our goal is to create a friendly environ- ment for scientists and surgeons from around the world. We want to be not only a pub- lishing platform, but also a place for discussion and scientific cooperation of surgeons. In this issue you will find, as usual, a whole range of interesting articles. The issue opens with an interesting clinical study on the use of the ERAS protocol in colorectal surgery. We also continue a topic from the previous issue – surgical treatment of splen- ic diseases with minimally invasive methods. As many as three articles are presented by neurosurgeons, stressing our interdisciplinary character. And as usual, we have in- cluded several interesting clinical cases. I believe that everyone will find something especially interesting. For the upcoming Christmas and New Year, I wish you peace, happiness with the family and, in the scientific field, many successes presented in “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques”. See you at meetings and conferences in 2019! Kind regards, Jacek Szeliga “Videosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques” Editor in Chief
