Dear colleagues,

Another year has passed. It was a difficult one due to the conflicts that keep breaking out in various regions of the world. Also, the editorial office of Videosurgery has undergone many difficult organizational changes, which I hope will bear fruit in the near future. We have changed the publishing house, so now we can work much more efficiently and devote more time to our authors, trying to help them at every stage of the publication process. I believe that all the improvements introduced this year will make you even more eager to submit your scientific papers to us, especially since our journal is becoming more and more visible in the world of medicine, which is manifested by the increasing citation count of our articles.

The effects of our efforts can be assessed in this very issue. You will find here 15 articles addressing various problems of minimally invasive surgery and its related fields. As many as 4 extremely interesting works concern bariatric surgery. They present, among other things, very important, nationwide statistics on the surgical treatment of obesity, which will undoubtedly become an important element of the discussion on the systemic problems of this field. I strongly encourage those interested in the subject to thoroughly analyze the data contained therein.

As usual, this issue also includes a meta-analysis, which this time deals with the problem of liver cancer treatment. There are also other, recently so popular, analyses of the challenges related to diagnosing pulmonary nodules.

And for the upcoming Christmas season and the approaching end of year, I wish everyone peace and rest from everyday hard work, and the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. Let it be a period of reflection and preparation for many new inspirations in the upcoming year 2025, hopefully better than the previous one!

See you at meetings and conferences in 2025! See you also as contributors and readers of Videosurgery.

Kindest regards

Prof. Jacek Szeliga
