Kraków, Poland

12 - 17 October 2009

Dear Researcher,

It has been a long tradition of the European Thrombosis Research Organization to organize Advanced Teaching Courses on Thrombosis. This year, from 12th to 17th October 2009, our jubilee 10th ETRO Advanced Teaching Course on Thrombosis will be held in Kraków, Poland.

Over the last years an enormous progress has been made in basic and clinical research elucidating physiology of haemostasis and pathology of thrombosis. Methods of molecular biology, genetic analysis, population studies, advanced pharmacologic drug design as well as randomized clinical trials have led to the discovery of new risk factors for both, arterial and venous thromboembolism, together with new, fascinating possibilities of their prevention and treatment. We are glad that leading experts in the field agreed to come to Kraków as speakers (see above) and share their knowledge with us. This will create a unique possibility for participants not only to listen to the lectures but also to discuss topics of their research interest. We invite all investigators involved in basic and clinical research on thrombosis from all Europe to participate in this Course.

In particular, we invite and encourage young scientists to come and share their own observations and outcome of studies in the form of poster presentations (one per participant).

We will be delighted to host all the participants in Kraków, a large cultural and university centre. Everybody here cannot wait to welcome you on the special occasion of the 10th ETRO Teaching Course.
