In the Review Article entitled “Current management of acute diarrheal infections in adults” published in the November 2018 issue (Riddle MS. Pol Arch Intern Med. 2018; 128 (11): 685-692. doi:10.20452/pamw.4363), on page 685, in the Introduction section, the sentence “Acute diarrhea is usually defined as the passage of a greater number of stools of looser form compared with normal diarrhea lasting less than 14 days, or as an abrupt onset of the passage of 3 or more loose or liquid stools above baseline within 24 hours.” should have read “Acute diarrhea is usually defined as the passage of a greater number of stools of looser form compared with normal form lasting less than 14 days, or as an abrupt onset of the passage of 3 or more loose or liquid stools above baseline within 24 hours.”

On page 686, the title of Figure 1 “Leading causes of illness, hospitalization, and death in the United States (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2018)” should have read “Leading causes of disability-adjusted life years, foodborne illnesses, hospitalization, and death in the United States (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2018).”

On the same page, in the section entitled “Domestically acquired foodborne illnesses”, the sentence “A Danish study from 2014 examined DALYs attributed to Campylobacter infection…” should have read “A report by the Danish National Food Institute from 2014 examined DALYs attributed to Campylobacter infection…”
