In the Review Article entitled “Thyroid emergencies” published in the July-August 2019 issue (Ylli D, Klubo-Gwiezdzinska J, Wartofsky L. Pol Arch Intern Med. 2019; 129 (7-8): 526–534. doi:10.20452/pamw.14876), on page 531, in the Laboratory findings section, the sentence “However, in thyroid storm, either hepatic necrosis or the liver dysfunction due to heart failure noted above will be associated with even more abnormally high levels of bilirubin, serum lactate dehydrogenase and aspartate aminotransferases (serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase).” should have read “However, in thyroid storm, either hepatic necrosis or the liver dysfunction due to heart failure noted above will be associated with even more abnormally high levels of bilirubin, serum lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase (serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase), and alanine aminotransferase (serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase).”
