In the Review article entitled “How to better prevent sudden cardiac death? Recent advances.” published in the October 2024 issue (Bricoli S, Aschieri D, Niccoli G. Pol Arch Intern Med. 2024; 134: 16838. doi:10.20452/pamw.16838), at the bottom of page 3, the phrase “In the future, the use of longer‑lasting (or rechargeable) batteries could reduce the risk of infections associated with replacements, the use of extravascular systems (also with a possibility of pacing with a subcutaneous ICD), and other lead‑related complications.” should have read “In the future, the use of longer‑lasting (or rechargeable) batteries could reduce the risk of infections associated with replacements, and the use of extravascular systems (also with a possibility of pacing with a subcutaneous ICD) could reduce the risk of other lead‑related complications.” Also, there were 2 errors in the Figure 3. The phrase “Circulatory phase (5–10 minutes)” in the top red box should have read “Metabolic phase (>10 minutes)”, and the phrase “repercussion damage occurs” in the middle red box should have read “reperfusion damage occurs.”
