5th April 2014 saw the signing of the agreement for the joint publication of an English edition of ‘Interna Szczeklika’ between Medycyna Praktyczna, a Kraków-based publishing house, and the Department of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton (Ontario, Canada), a world-renown medical centre and the birthplace of evidence-based medicine.

The official signing took place in Warsaw and was attended by a group of McMaster University professors specialising in internal medicine. As the editors of the chapters in the book, they will make a crucial contribution to the project by adjusting the English text for the North American audience, introducing all the necessary changes and relevant additional material.
The agreement for the publication of ‘McMaster Textbook of Internal Medicine. Based on Interna Szczeklika’ – as the book will be titled in English – was signed on behalf of McMaster University by the head editors supervising the project: Professor Paul O’Byrne and Professor Roman Jaeschke, and on behalf of Medycyna Praktyczna, by Dr Wiesław Latuszek-Łukasiewicz, the managing director of the publishing house, and Dr Piotr Gajewski, the editor-in-chief of ‘Interna Szczeklika’.
